This is real simple but the vertical display can offer much more visual appeal then a short flower planter. If you want to paint your terra cotta pots, you will want to do that first. I decided to use a black spray paint with a gloss finish. You want to build up a good base to place your plastic planter pot. This will be the base of your second tier.

I will be the first to admit that I have do not have a green thumb. Every plant that I have ever owned, I have successfully killed. But that doesn’t deter me from trying again and again every spring.

One of my goals when planting flowers is to make our front steps and door more inviting. A few years ago, I came across the idea of stacked flower pots. When I read how easy it was to do, I knew I could tackle this little DIY project. After the paint is dry you need to figure out what message you want to display on the pots. Grab 2 of these from the Dollar Tree! If you can’t find those, ANY plastic flower pots will work. I would just pick one that has some grooves and/or texture to it like this. The thicker the wire, the more noticeable it is sticking out from the flowers. The thinner wire works nice being able to thread through many of the beads. To stabilize the vertical pots, place a stake through a couple terracotta pots and then into the base of a larger pot filled with dirt.
